Abstract

475,849. Friction clutches. FUSIONMOTEURS. Feb. 23, 1937, No. 5431. Convention date, March 20, 1936. [Class 80 (ii)] A centrifugal friction clutch comprises a pair of shoes 5 pivotally mounted on a disc 3 secured to the driven shaft 1 and urged into initial frictional contact with a driving drum 2 by adjustable springs 7 interposed between the shoes. The clutch is controlled by a hollow conical shell 12 which engages over headed pins 9 projecting from the shoes through slots 10 in the disc 3, the shell having a groove 13 therein which serves to retain the clutch in disengaged condition. The shell 12 is rotatable on the shaft 1 and is slidable axially thereon by manual pressure.
