Abstract

474,648. Unpacking &c. GOODCHILD, S. July 30, 1936, No. 21112. [Class 94 (i)] A tea packet or the like has the end folds secured by a label or sheet 2 which covers the ends. A tongue 3 is formed, which together with perforations 4 and incisions 5, enables the sheet to be torn so that the end folds, which are not secured otherwise than by the sheet, are exposed for opening. The incisions 5 may follow the line of the edges of the end folds. The sheet is covered on the underside with adhesive on the shaded area 6, so that the tearing action is not interfered with. The tearing may start from at or near the end of the sheet and proceed longitudinally inwards or transversely. The tongue may be formed of a separate strip secured to the outer or inner surface of the sheet. The sheet may cover both ends and one side of the packet, or one end only.
