474,479. Making foam. PYRENE CO., Ltd., and RATZER, A. F. July 20, 1936, No. 20075. [Class 47 (ii)] In the production of foam, particularly suitable for use in extinguishing alcohol fires, a saturated fatty acid soap and a hydroxy fatty acid soap are added to the foam-forming ingredients as stabilizing agents. A dry foamforming powder may contain aluminium sulphate, sodium bicarbonate, liquorice, sodium laurate, and sodium ricinoleate. An alkaline solution for reaction with a solution of aluminium sulphate may contain potassium bicarbonate, saponin, sodium stearate, and sodium ricinoleate.
