Abstract

A fire-extinguishing liquid comprises an aqueous solution of one or more of potassium propionate; potassium n-butyrate; potassium isobutyrate and potassium valerate, together with a wetting agent. A lower alkanol, e.g. methanol or isopropanol, and tetrapotassium pyrophosphate may also be included.
