Abstract

474,124. Gas purifiers. KLONNE, M., and KLONNE, M. Feb. 13, 1937, No. 4390. Convention date, Sept. 19, 1936. [Class 55 (ii)] In a gas purifier, particularly for the removal of sulphur compounds from town gases, wherein the purification is effected by a dry granular material 4 packed into an annular chamber with perforated walls 2, 3 traversed radially by the gas, the inside wall 3 of this chamber is divided horizontally into separately removable superimposed sections. The sections are provided with radial. arms having a central eye 12 for engagement with a crane hook and on removal from the top, the purifying material falls through the centre of the purifier to be discharged by a conveyer 13. The annular chamber is surrounded concentrically by a gas chamber 1 provided with a gas inlet or outlet 10. To prevent excessive packing of the purifying material, the annular chamber is fitted at its mid-part with a horizontal partition 15 projecting into the centre of the purifier. Immediately below the partition, the annular walls are imperforate.
