Abstract
473,685. Two-stroke-cycle engines. KADENACY, M., and ARMSTRONG WHITWORTH SECURITIES CO., Ltd. Jan. 11, 1936, No. 1015. [Class 7 (ii)] In engines in which the relative timing of the exhaust and inlet ports is such that the outflow of the exhaust gases is used to induce fresh charge, this effect is supplemented by a compressor 11 having radial, helical or fan blades and placed in the inlet pipe. It may rotate idly during normal running, or be driven through a clutch or governor - controlled through helical and variable-speed friction gearing to be increasingly effective as the speed of the engine decreases.
