Abstract

473,650. Valve generating circuits. ZEITLINE, V., ZEITLINE, A., and KLIATCHKO, V. April 14, 1936, No. 10766. Convention date, April 15, 1935. [Class 40 (v)] Saw-tooth voltages of opposite phase for application to the deflecting plates of cathoderay tubes for television &c. are derived from a single input voltage by a valve circuit including either two triodes or a single multielectrode valve, to the appropriate electrodes of which the deflecting plates are connected. In one arrangement, Fig. 3, two reciprocallycoupled valves 1, 2, one of which effects a phase reversal, are supplied from input terminals XO, YO, while the anode circuits include a divided resistance 3, and one pair of deflecting plates are connected to the anodes. If desired, the two triodes may be combined in a single envelope. In a modification, Fig. 7, employing a single valve the input terminals D, E are connected to the cathode and second grid, while the anode and first grid, on which the working voltages are regulated by resistances R1, R2 and R3, are connected to the deflecting plates. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 8 (not shown), employing a dynatron, the input terminals are connected to the cathode and first grid, while the deflecting plates are connected to the second grid and anode. In a still further arrangement, Fig. 9 (not shown), employing, a charging condenser and gas discharge valve, the grid of which receives periodic impulses, the circuit is adapted to generate a saw tooth voltage and to apply two waves differing in phase by 180‹ to the deflecting plates of the cathode-ray tube. Specifications 423,427 and 426,537 are referred to.
