Abstract
473,557. Automatic exchange switches. RICHTER, M. B. April 14, 1936, No. 10791. [Class 40 (iv)] The clutch magnet of a power-driven rotary switch is located around a central core 5 serving as a pivot for the wiper-arm carrier 4 and has a pair of linked armatures 9 which are coupled to sliding members 32 engaging the inner circumference of a continuously driven pulley 15 and to wiper-arms 34 so that the wipers are withdrawn from engagement with the fixed contacts during rotation. Separate test terminals 17 and test wipers 16 adjustably mounted on insulating blocks 50 are provided. The wiper tips 3 which make only bridging connections between pairs of fixed contacts 1 are slidable on the arms 34 and connected to them by springs 41. The switch is stopped and held in a set position by pairs of pawls 45 controlled by pins 48 on the armatures. The bridging of the line terminals and the duplication of test contacts permits the same switch to be used for different types of connections.
