Abstract
211,553. Lefroy, H. P. T. Nov. 17, 1922. Regulating-switches.-A step-by-step variable inductance comprises a number of pairs of elements 1, 2, 3, 4 and a switch adapted to connect any number of pairs in series, the elements of each pair in use being connected to assist one another and the elements of each pair not in use connected together in opposition and disconnected from other pairs in order to avoid '' dead-end " loss. The switch shown comprises a barrel 5 mounted on an axis 6 and provided with rows of contacts connected in the required manner. A pointer may be mounted on the spindle to indicate the number of pairs in use.
