Abstract

239,317. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., and Salisbury, A. G. July 8, 1924. Shaft couplings of the type comprising an intermediate ring carrying sets of projections to engage recesses in the shaft members. The two sets are disposed on the same side of the ring, in order to permit uncoupling without disturbing the shaft members, and preferably differ in number to allow vernier adjustment. An intermediate member 1, comprising a rubber or other resilient ring 10 interposed between rings carrying different numbers of projections 3, 5, is movable axially to engage recesses 4, 6 in the shaft members 2, 7, and is secured by a washer 8 and nut 9.
