Abstract

473,487. Supplying pulp to papermaking machines. WALMSLEYS (BURY), Ltd., RANDELL, H. C., and LORD, H. April 15, 1936, No. 10801. [Class 96] In a machine for the manufacture of paper &c. the pulp is conveyed from screens 1 to a slice 9 for distributing a layer of paper pulp evenly across a wire cloth 10 by means of a booster pump 4 which is driven in synchronism with the wire cloth. The pump 4 feeds the slice 9 either directly, giving a dynamic head or indirectly through a static head tank. The slice 9 may be fed through branch-pipes 7 each with a valve 8. The pump 4 is short-circuited by a valved pipe 11. Specification 473,486 is referred to.
