Abstract

714,356. Pulp supply to paper-making machines. WALMSLEYS (BURY), Ltd., and TEMPERLEY, J. Feb. 5, 1953 [Feb. 7, 1952], No. 3211/52. Class 96 The wire-cloth 16 of a Fourdrinier papermaking machine is supplied with pulp from a flow box 10 comprising flow-spreader 10a fed from a pulp strainer 29, and a mixing box 10b supplied from the flow-spreader 10a and also from a pulp supply valve 13, an overflow supply valve 12, and a back water supply valve 11 receiving white water from a. tank or drainage pit 15 via a pump 14. Overflow from the mixing box 10b is pumped at 23 through filters 24, through a pressure valve 27 and some of. it is by-passed through the strainer 29, the remainder going to the valve 12. Pulp from a chest 20 with back water from an independent supply 22 is pumped through a consistency regulator 19 and a head box 17 to the flow box 10. Specification 695,121 is referred to.
