Abstract

472,625. Liquid fuel injectors. FRANKS, E. A. March 25, 1936, No. 26666/35. [Class 7 (iii)] To minimize lateral spreading of the fuel supplied to a passage 8 in a cap 6 by a passage 4 in the end wall 3 of a cylindrical member 2 which is movable relative to the cap 5, the passage 8 is provided with a conical restriction 10 followed by a conical enlargement 11. The fuel is supplied to the passage 4 past a ball valve 18 which is held against a feed passage 17 in a spring- pressed block 16 by a spring-pressed cage 19. Rotation of the member 2 is effected by an arm 12. The passage 4 may be brought into register with a series of passages 8 in the cap 5 by rotating or oscillating the member 2 through gearing.
