[Class 85] A packing-head for wells comprises a tubular housing adapted to take an elongated member through its bore and containing a continuously annular packer surrounding the member, and means for admitting fluid pressure selectively into spaces within the housing to move a packer contractor in either packer contracting or expanding directions. These means may be as set out in Specification 471,732. Specifications 471,793 and 471,795 also are referred to.
