Abstract

1,068,700. Wells &c. CHEVRON RESEARCH CO. Nov. 15, 1965 [Nov. 13, 1964], No. 48458/65. Heading E1F. A tool for injecting fluid into a formation (21) penetrated by a well comprises a tubular member (25), spaced packing means (33) on the member for packing off selected portions of well casing (22), passgeways (40, 42) forming means for communicating the interior of the member with each of the portions, and a check valve (50) in each passageway and responsive to pressure differential between the interior of the member and the portion outside the member to regulate flow in the passageway. The use of the tool prevents fractures due to build up of pressure in less permeable parts of the formation during sand consolidation and well stimulation.
