Abstract

1,132,503. Wells. ESSO PRODUCTION RESEARCH CO. 18 March, 1966 [20 May, 1965], No. 12024/66. Heading E1F. In a method of conducting operations, such as sand washing, circulation, stimulation, cementing, or acidizing, in a well 12, a pipe 27 is pumped through a conduit 19 into the well. The pipe which may be coated with buoyant material or be of double walled section has a deformable or a valved piston 34 at its free end. The pipe may carry a series of buoyant enlargements or a series of centralizers. During sand washing the fluid is supplied through the pipe and is returned through the annulus in the conduit surrounding the pipe. The pipe may be used for the production of oil or gas.
