897,566. Mineral-mining. FMC CORPORATION. July 14, 1960, No. 24585/60. Class 68(1). A method of mining underground deposits removable in liquid form complises drilling a pair of wells A, B into the deposit formation 10, applying a fracturing fluid under pressure to the formation adjacent at least one of the wells to fracture the deposit formation between the wells, displacing the fracturing fluid with an aqueous liquid under pressure to dissolve or melt and transport the deposit in liquid form to a well for removal from the formation 10, said aqueous liquid being maintained under sufficient pressure to prevent resettling of the formation until the passage between the wells is sufficiently enlarged as not to be closable when the formation is then returned to the normal environmental pressures.
