Abstract
930,199. Wells. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. April 25, 1962 [April 27, 1961], No. 15764/62. Class 85. Oil is produced from a formation having hot fluid input wells 2, 4, 6, 8, drainage wells 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, and production wells 10, 12, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 by establishing communication between the formation at one level thereof with both the input and drainage wells, establishing communication between the production wells and the formation at a lower level, injecting hot fluid (steam) through the input wells while removing fluid from the drainage wells and injecting hot fluid into production wells 10, 12 while removing fluid from production wells 21 . . . 26, subsequently discontinuing the injection into production wells 10, 12, injecting hot fluid into the input and/or drainage wells, and producing oil from all or some of the production wells. If necessary fractures 30, 34 filled with propping agents may extend through the formation at the levels. Each well may be cased and perforated at its communicating level, and a cement body may seal the well from the other level.
