Abstract

1,081,510. Drilling fluids. CHEVRON RESEARCH CO. April 7, 1966 [April 8, 1965], No. 15769/66. Heading E1F. An aqueous dispersion of paraffin wax is introduced into a well drilling operation at least 0.0075 lbs. of wax/sq. foot of bore hole in order to prevent sloughing. The dispersion may be added to the drilling fluid or may be introduced when a shale stratum is reached.
