Abstract

1292653 Explosive compositions TALLEY INDUSTRIES Inc 4 Oct 1969 [4 Oct 1968] 46752/69 Heading C1D [Also in Division E1] A liquid explosive, for example the composition described in Specification 1,292,654, is introduced into a well bore by pressurizing a tank containing the explosive at the surface, thus forcing the explosive down a pipe into the well bore adjacent formations to be fractured. A high pressure pump may be used to force the explosive into the well fissures. Detonation may be effected by means of a composition B or nitroglycerine booster. By arranging a looselycovered restrictive orifice in the well above the level of the explosive and loading above the orifice with ballast, the rubble generated by the explosion is blown out of the well.
