Abstract

In conducting workover operations at an underwater wellhead, the workover tool is suspended from a wireline and lowered to the wellhead in a lubricator which is initially supported by the tool but which eventually abuts and is latched to the wellhead. The tool can then be run into the well through the bottom of the lubricator. Hydraulic latching is preferred.
