Abstract
471,303. Turning-gear. BOSCH AKT.- GES., R. Jan. 15, 1937, No. 1226. Convention date, Jan. 18, 1936. [Class 7 (v)] In an electric starter in which the axial movement of the armature to effect the engagement of a starter pinion with the engine is effected by means of an auxiliary winding c and also, in an unfavourable position of the starter, by an auxiliary pushing device m, the latter is arranged to switch on the main field winding b of the starting motor. As shown, the starter is provided with a two-stage electromagnetic switch e, which can only close the circuit of the main field winding b if a pawl f has been disengaged from a movable member of the switch by a disc g on the armature shaft. The pushing device m is a rod actuated by a lever h and acts on the disc g. A contact plate t on the rod m is arranged to engage a contact plate q in the circuit of the switch e before the rod m begins to push the disc g. Specification 455,005, [Group XIX], is referred to.
