470,211. Air - current indicators. SOC. PROVENCALE DE CONSTRUCTIONS AERONAUTIQUES. June 26, 1936, Nos. 17787 and 17788. Convention dates, June 29, 1935 and March 13, 1936. [Class 97 (iii)] [Also in Groups XIX and XV] The stream-lines of a fluid flowing round a body are observed by emitting soap bubbles into the fluid ahead of the body. Soap bubbles are formed by passing compressed air and water through adjustable valves 9, 10 to a nozzle 4, the outlet end of which may be fitted with an iris diaphragm. The nozzle is surrounded by a body 13 which may have an iris diaphragm 17, Fig. 7, to vary the air velocity at the exit of the nozzle. A further body 19 may be placed round the body 13, so shaped that the soap bubbles readily acquire the velocity of the surrounding air stream.
