Abstract
469,484. Fountain pens. BURNHAM, H. F. C., and BURNHAM, H. C. W. Feb. 14, 1936, No. 4575. [Class 146 (iii)] In a fountain pen of the kind in which filling is effected by twisting and untwisting a sac 2, an air-tube 7, secured in the nib-section 4, projects into the sac which, at its rear end, is attached to a member 3 having a stem 8 passing through the rear end of the barrel and connected to a cap 11 screwing on to the barrel. The sac is secured at the forward end to the nib-section on to the rear end of a transparent part of the barrel carrying the nib-section. The stem 8 and cap 11 may be connected by a rivet 13, the ends of which are covered by an ornamental band 14 mounted in a shallow groove in the cap. Shoulders on the cap, plug, and barrel prevent excessive twisting of the sac.
