469,380. Wireless receiving circuits. COLE, Ltd., E. K. Feb. 27, 1937, No. 5938. Convention date, July 4, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] The waverange switch and selectivity control of a superheterodyne receive! are so connected that the selectivity is reduced when switching from a higher tc lower wavelength range. The waveband switches 5, 9 of the preselector and oscillator circuits provide for three wavelength ranges and are unicontrolled with a switch 16, which inserts a capacity 15 in the intermediatefrequency filter 10, 11 to reduce the selectivity when the switches 5, 9 are in the short-wave band position. Alternatively an auxiliary coupling coil in series with coil 11 may be put in circuit by the switch 16, Fig. 2 (not shown). The object is to prevent distortion on the short-waveband due to displacement of the carrier frequency with respect to its sidebands.
