Abstract
478,831. Wireless receiving circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and BLIGH, N. R. Sept. 18, 1936, No. 25435. [Class 40 (v)] A wireless receiving-set of the kind adapted to receive both on frequencies substantially greater than 30 megacycles (e.g. television frequencies) and substantially less than 30 m.c. (e.g. the normal broadcast range) comprises two electrically separate tuned circuits L1, C1, L<1>1, C<1>1, R1 and L2, C2, L<1>2, C<1>2, R2 the tuning elements C1, C2 of which are unicontrolled, and a switch S by which the circuits are alternatively placed in circuit. By this means the ultra-high-frequency circuit may be wholly and carefully screened as at 13, while merely the inductances L2, L<1>2 of the lower frequency circuit require screening. The triode-hexode frequency changer 1 may be common to the two circuits as shown, or a 'separate valve may be used for each circuit in the latter case the higher frequency valve will be housed within the screen 13. The usual waveband switching arrangements may be additionally provided for the lower frequency unit L2, C2. Specification 454,188 is referred to.
