Abstract

649,786. Diplex radio signalling ; superheterodyne receivers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. Dec. 31, 1947, No. 35181. Convention date, Oct. 10, 1939. [Class 40 (v)] [Also in Group XL (a)] The invention relates to circuits for separating two or more oscillations applied to the grid 3 of a valve (for example the sound and vision signals in a television receiver) in which the two oscillations are derived by selective circuits 18 and 12 connected respectively to the anode 6 and one or more secondary emitting electrodes 5. According to the invention the valve has an anode in the form of a plate located outside the path of the primary electrons, and a suction grid 36 parallel to and in front of each of the secondary emitting electrodes, the latter being connected to the cathode either inside or outside the envelope through a low impedance 40 and either inside the envelope through a resistance or choke to the anode or outside the envelope to a high positive potential. The valve may operate in addition as a frequency changer, in which case local oscillations are also applied to the grid. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also comprises further subject-matter described in Specification 545,803. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
