[Class 37] [Also in Group XL] A wireless receiver having push-button tuning to each of a plurality of selected wave-, lengths, is provided with additional. pushbuttons which enable manual tuning control to be effected on each of several wavebands. Figs. 1 and 2 show respectively the radio frequency and the oscillator tuning circuits of a superheterodyne receiver, in which pushbuttons simultaneously operate contacts 4a, 4b or 5a, 5b &c. to fix-tune the receiver to the desired predetermined wavelength. In Fig. 1, semi-fixed condensers C2 ... C8 are switched selectively across the long wave coil L3, medium band coil L2 and short wave coil L1, while in the oscillator circuit inductances VL10 ... VL16 of variable permeability type are connected across condenser C16 or C17. The push button switches 1a, 2a, 3a, switch the coils L1, L2, L3, in parallel with one section VC1 of a ganged tuning condenser assembly for manual tuning on three wave bands, the corresponding switches 1b, 2b, 3b, of the oscillator connecting - inductances L6, L7, L8 across the other section VC2 of the variable condenser together with padding condensers C9 ... C14. A further push-button may be provided to change from radio reception to gramophone reproduction by cutting out the radio frequency circuits and connecting the pick-up in any suitable manner.
