Abstract
451,301. Wireless receiving systems. COLE, Ltd., E. K., Priory Crescent, Southendon-Sea, and BRADFIELD, G., 34, St. Benets Road, Prittlewell. Essex. April 26, 1935, No. 12509. [Class 40 (v)] An input filter for a radio receiver comprises two coupled tuned circuits A, E1, E2, W3 and B, C, D, W4, Fig. 1, forming a bandpass filter with wave-band switching S3. Associated with the medium-wave windings E1, E2, are a pair of bifilar wound coils F1, F2 which in the medium wave position T of the switch T, T1, are connected respectively to the aerial Y through its lead-in wire L2 and to a twin auxiliary lead-in wire L1 so that interference picked up on the wires L1, L2 is balanced out. The effect of the lead L1 can be cut out by opening switch S2 and closing switch S1 to earth said lead. In the long wave position T1 the input coils A1, A2, coupled to the long wave coil A, are associated with the aerial system. The coils may be all disposed on a single former, Fig. 2, the coils E1, E2, and C, D being mutually adjustable to obtain the required inductance. Alternatively a movable iron core may be provided.
