[Class 135] [Also in Group VI] In a respiratory appliance wherein oxygen is supplied from a connection at a through a reducing valve e to a passage e<2>, and additional oxygen is supplied as required through a passage c and a valve d opened by a lever h connected to a breathing bag, the valve d includes a diaphragm o clamped by a screw ring s and carrying a pin p the lower end of which contacts with a polygonal pin q, adapted to unseat a closure plug d<1>, whereas the upper end engages a pressuretransmitting member n contacted by a ballended adjusting screw m in the lever h. The member is preferably larger at the bottom than at the top and is guided in the screw ring s. The valve e includes a closure plug e<1> held from its seating by a polygonal pin e' connected to a diaphragm e<4> under adjustable spring pressure. The plugs d<1>, e<1>, are of rectangular section and have a common spring f. The lever h which extends normally to the plane of section shown, is pivoted in bearings i, k, and comprises two parts connected by a rule joint. The free end of the lever has an off-set portion engaged by a spring-pressed push-operated rod mounted in bearing-brackets on the valve casing whereby the valve d may be opened manually if desired.
