Abstract

199,534. Dawson, A. April 12, 1922. Pressure-regulating valves.-A piston actuated reducing-valve has the valve member mounted on a balancing piston smaller in diameter than actuating piston. The valve member 10 is carried by a piston 8 having ports 11 to allow outlet pressure to act on both sides and connected by a rod 9 to a larger piston 20. This piston is loaded by a spring 21 provided with an adjustable abutment 22 held by a screw 23 having an indicator 24 co-operating with a fixed scale 25. A port 26 is provided to admit atmospheric pressure to the back of the piston and to serve as a drain.
