Abstract

Disinfecting and preserving cleansing-compositions comprise soap-free mixtures of compounds of the formula R.X.R<1>, in which R is an aromatic residue containing an hydroxyl group, X is a carbonyl or sulphonyl group, and R<1> is an aliphatic residue having at least 5 carbon atoms, with alkaline reacting salts having a cleansing action. The added salts may be alkali carbonates, bicarbonates, phosphates, silicates, borates, sulphides, aluminates or soluble salts of weak organic acids, e.g. sodium acetate or sulphonamide. Organic bases, e.g. triethanolamine and amino propandiol are optional additions. The preparations may be put up in solid liquid or paste form. Examples describe preparations consisting of 4-hydroxy-3-methyl-phenyl-undecylketone mixed with sodium metasilicate and sodium triphosphate and of b -hydroxy-naphthyl-n-nonylketone mixed with sodium silicate and triphosphate.
