Abstract

Bleaching, washing, &c. compositions consisting of alkaline-reacting mixtures containing a per-compound and a salt of pyro- or metaphosphoric acid, are stabilized by an addition of magnesium silicate added in the ready-formed state. Very small proportions, for example, of 0,5--5 per cent, of magnesium silicate are sufficient. The per-compounds include hydrogen peroxide and its organic compounds such as the additive compound of hydrogen peroxide and urea. The alkaline component may be alkali carbonates, water glass, sodium metasilicate, borax, alkali orthophosphates, and also soap, saponins, and alkali salts of sulphonated oils or sulphonated fatty alcohols. Additional substances are solvents, abrasives, and other washing, emulsifying, &c. agents. The composition may be put in the solid, liquid or paste form. In examples of compositions for use in bleaching, washing, &c., sodium perborate and sodium perpyro - phosphate are the per-compounds; sodium pyrophosphates, polyphosphate and perpyrophosphate are the phosphoric acid salt; and soda, soap, and sodium salt of sulphonated higher fatty alcohols are additional substances.ALSO:Cleansing, washing, &c. compositions consisting of alkaline-reacting mixtures containing a per-compound and a salt of pyro- or metaphosphoric acid, are stabilized by an addition of magnesium silicate added in the ready-formed state. Very small perforations, for example, of 0,5--5 per cent, of magnesium silicate are sufficient. The compositions may contain soap, saponins, alkali salts of sulphonated oils or sulphonated fatty alcohols, solvents, abrasives and other washing, emulsifying &c. agents, &c. The composition may be put up in the solid, liquid or paste form. In examples of washing &c. compositions, sodium perborate and sodium perpyrophosphate are the per-compounds; sodium pyrophosphates polyphosphate and perpyrophosphate are the phosphoric acid salts; and soap, soda, sodium salt of sulphonated higher fatty alcohols are additional substances.
