Abstract

<PICT:0468742/IV/1> In a modification of the apparatus described and claimed in the parent Specification, the non - metallic rollers consisting preferably of porcelain or quartz are constructed as hollow cylinders and are gripped by elastic pressure from the interior, preferably outside the heating zone, by means of a hub element on the driving shaft. As shown, a hub element 3 is detachably secured to a driving shaft 2 by screwing or wedging. The ends 4, 5 of the hub element are provided with sealing rings 6, 7 resiliently engaging the interior of the roller 1, the rings being pressed into place by screwed caps 8, 9.
