Abstract

468,699. Refrigerating. TENNANT, W. J. (Kelvinator Corporation) Jan. 7, 1936, No. 583. [Class 29] Compression machines and systems.-A refrigerating system includes a multiple effect compressor connected to independent evaporators in which different temperatures are maintained and controlled by changes in pressure or temperature in one of said evaporators. The evaporators 24, 26 disposed in separate chambers are connected to the relatively high and low suction pressure ports 42, 44, Fig. 4. respectively of a rotary compressor 50 comprising a compression chamber 77 having a compressing member consisting of a cylinder 78 provided with a guide 83 slidable in an oscillatable block 84 in the chamber wall, and mounted on an eccentric 80 secured to a shaft 66 driven by an electric motor. The current to the motor is controlled by a switch 97 regulated by the vapour pressure in the return pipe between one of the evaporators and the compressor. The compressed vapour passes to the condenser 43 from which the condensate flows into a reservoir 45 and thence to the evaporators.
