Abstract
1436049 Rotary positive-displacement fluid-machines; reciprocating compressors R Z FANBERG 1 Feb 1974 [5 Feb 1973] 4748/74 Headings F1F and F1N [Also in Division F4] In an evaporation, condensation, compression refrigeration system condensate from a receiver 52 passes through either a first expansion valve 56 to the evaporator 53, or through a second expansion valve 46 to cool the walls of the compressor 13. In a rotary vane compressor, Fig. 2 having a compression suction port 18, the coolant vapour enters via an opening 43 and passes through an elongate passage 29-35 before being injected into the compression chamber at a port 47 which is so positioned that at least one vane 17 is always positioned between the port 47 and the port 18. All the compressed vapour passes to an outlet 22. Oil for sealing purposes is introduced into the compression chamber via an inlet 50. In a pistoncylinder type compressor, Fig. 5, the refrigerant vapour passes through ducting 82-96 before being injected into the compression chamber at 97, adjacent the upper surface of the piston when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke. The vapour injected into the cylinder is then compressed upon the next upstroke of the piston. The vapour from both sources is discharged through outlet pipe 72.
