Abstract
PURPOSE: To promote the volumetric efficiency and increase the amount of circulating refrigerant in a rotary compressor for a room cooling and heating cycle by conducting the refrigerant through a hollow part provided around a suction passage before injecting into a cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: When refrigerant gas is compressed up to a fixed pressure by the rotation of a piston 12, it pushes and opens a discharge valve 15 to be discharged into a hermetically sealed vessel 1. It is then sent to a condenser (unillustrated) via a discharge pipe 21. The refrigerant cooled and liquefied in the condenser is partly sent into a hollow 19 provided around a suction port 6, and after conducted through the hollow 19, injected into a space 5 on the way of compression from a nozzle 20. In this construction, since the refrigerant liquid far colder than the discharge refrigerant gas is conducted around the suction port 6, the sucked refrigerant gas is prevented from overheating, resulting to promote the volumetric efficiency and increase the amount of circulating refrigerant.
