Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate unnecessary mechanical work in order to reduce vane abrasion as well as needed power by varying the contact pressure between a vane and a cylinder by connecting a vane pressing chamber to either a low pressure groove or high pressure one depending upon the vane stroke.
CONSTITUTION: In suction stroke, a vane pressing chamber 10 consisting of a vane 9 and a groove 8 on a rotor 9 undergoes the low pressure from the suction side because the chamber 10 is connected to a low-pressure groove (not figured). Accordingly the vane 9 is pressed with the low pressure. A compression room 16 decreases its volume until the vane 9 reaches the lower dead point after passing the upper one, and, with the vane 9 around the lower dead point, the compressed fluid is discharged from a discharge opening 6. At the same time, the interconnection to the vane pressing chamber 10 is switched from the low pressure groove (not figured) to a high pressure groove 12 so that the internal pressure in the chamber 10 increases. Accordingly, the contact pressure of the vane 9 increases to secure an adequate sealing, which obtains power saving.
