Abstract

1386836 Rotary positive-displacement machines UTILE ENG CO Ltd 6 June 1973 [8 June 1972] 26667/72 Heading F1F In a sliding-vane compressor, or vacuum pump, lubrication is effected by oil mist generated in a unit 23 and entering the chamber for the rotor 15 through bearings 18 for the latter and apertures 29 adjacent an inlet port 11 for the working-fluid. Compressed working-fluid e.g. air, is supplied to the unit 23 through a filter 24. The oil mist enters the bearing housings 14 by way of a cooler 25 and flow restrictors 27. Surplus condensed oil in the housings 14 can escape into the rotor chamber through suitable connections (not shown).
