[Class 135] [Also in Group XXVIII] In a pump for concrete and the like, a flap discharge valve F is employed in which the surface F3, exposed to the back pressure, is curved to an arc having its centre in the pivot pin F<1>. The valve is opened by the discharge pressure and is closed by a spring J threaded on a rod G, pivoted to the valve and enclosed in a casing H. The valve opening is packed by a gasket K and by a water seal L. The valve casing D is of rectangular section and is connected to the pump cylinder A and to the discharge pipe E by junction pieces D<1>, D<2>.
