Abstract

A bearing bush has a lining of soft aluminium alloy, containing between 3 per cent and 15 per cent antimony. This is mounted by welding on a foundation of sheet iron or of hard aluminium alloy. This may contain 4,5 per cent copper, 0,5 to 1,5 per cent manganese, 0,6 to 1,4 per cent of magnesium and 0,3 to 0,7 per cent silicon. The compound metal is first formed in strips, and is then pressed or stamped to shape.
