Abstract
466,404. Valve amplifying circuits. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Dec. 21,1936, No. 35121. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1935. [Class 40 (v)] In an amplifier in which a loud-speaker or other load 13 is coupled to the output valve 2 by a transformer 8, negative feed-back is pro vided for minimizing distortion by including the load, or a part thereof, in the cathode lead 5 of an earlier valve 1 of the amplifier. Alternatively, the reaction may be provided by a third winding on the transformer 8, or by a tapping on a potentiometer connected across the transformer secondary coil. The poten- 'tiometer may comprise an inductance coil or a capacity to produce frequency discrimination. The ratio of the output voltage of the valve 2 to the feed-back voltage should be large compared with the voltage amplification of the valve stages. Specification 323,823, [Class 40 (v)], is referred to.
