Abstract
465,792. Valve circuits for wireless reception. DENMAN, R. P. G. Nov. 14, 1935, No. 31588. [Class 40 (v)] A superheterodyne receiver is associated with two aerials, one A1 associated with the main input to the receiver and the other A2 coupled to the intermediate frequency amplifier and adapted to receive signals of this frequency. The Figure shows a high frequency amplifier HF, frequency changers D1, D2 and intermediate frequency amplifiers IF1, IF2 and a super-regenerative detector D3 the quenching frequency for which is fed to the screen-grid and filtered from the audio - frequency amplifier F by the choke L and condenser C. As shown the second input is to the second amplifier IF2 but alternatively, separate inputs to each of the amplifiers, or an input to amplifier IF1, may be used. The receiver is used for aircraft landing, one aerial receiving the main beacon, the second aerial receiving signals from one or more marker beacons, while a third aerial system may receive telephony.
