Abstract
465,758. Feeding sheets; folding paper. GODER, M. Feb. 11, 1936, Nos. 4180 and 4181. Convention dates, March 20, 1935 and Jan. 27, 1936. [Class 103 (i)] [Also in Group XVII] Apparatus for removing sheets from a stack 1, in the making of bags &c., comprises a small suction-separating roll 4, a large suction-withdrawing roll 6 and a third conveying or folding roll 8, the arrangement being such that the roll 4 grips the sheet first and partly bends it away from the stack, after which the roll 6 grips the bent-away part, completely removing the sheet and in co-operation with the roll 8 folds or conveys the same. In making bags &c. the bag &c. blanks folded once as above and fed to recessed rolls 12, 13, impinge against an adjustable stop bar 17, a convex roller 19 operating to swing each blank until its edge contacts with the bar 17, i.e. through 90‹. A gummer 24<1> applies gum to each side flap 25, which is creased by a knife 27 and folded over and pressed by a blade 30 and roller 32 respectively.
