360,431. Cutting. WINKLER, A. and DœNNEBIER, M., Neuwied, Germany. July 31, 1930, No. 23132. Convention date, July 31, 1929. Addition to 340,459, [Group XVII]. [Class 31 (i).] The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a machine for making envelopes in which a paper web drawn from a roll (not shown), printed by the intaglio method, and slit by rotary knives into three longitudinal strips S, S<1>, S<11>, Fig. 2 (Cancelled), preparatory to creasing rolls forming transverse creases 18, is cut transversely into blanks by continuously rotating cutting rolls 20, Fig. 1a (Cancelled). Rolls 23, driven at a higher peripheral speed than the other rolls co-operate with free rollers or balls 22 to accelerate the motion of the blanks until they are brought to rest, by a radial surface in a recess 31 in an intermittently rotating roller 24, to allow a cutter 26 to remove the corners e of the closure flaps. The position of the roller 24 and its counter roller 25 is adjustable for different sizes of blanks. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
