Abstract

464,352. Insulators. BEERY, N. N. (Jones, R. D.) Oct. 30, 1935, No. 29979. [Class 36] A conductor 15 is attached to an insulator 5 by a clamp comprising upper and lower members 13, 9 secured together by a bolt 18, the lower clamping member 9 being moulded into the insulator and formed on its under face with a concave recess 20 from which depends an eccentrically disposed pointed stud 6 having sharp edged radial ribs 8 for securely anchoring the stud in position. The stud 6 is formed with a screw-threaded bone into which the bolt 18 screws. To prevent angular displacement of the upper clamping member 13 relatively to the fixed member 9, the member 13 is provided with a rib 16 which fits within a recess in the member 9. The edge 10 of the recess 20 in the member 9 is embedded in the material of the insulator to prevent corona discharge.
