Abstract

488,263. Cable clips; couplings. LOBEL, F. S. Jan. 1, 1937, No. 51. [Classes 3G and 38 (i)] A transverse cable clip is such that the width of the cable-receiving recess can be altered to suit the width of the cable. In one form, Fig. 9, the recess in the clip is provided with one or more frangible ribs c which can be broken off to increase the space for the cable. In another form, Fig. 5, the recess in the clip is formed by the space between two parts e which are relatively adjustable in a base d so that the separation between them can be altered and which have interdigitating fingers extending across the cable. An earthing strip m, Fig. 9, may be incorporated. The clip may be constructed wholly or partly of condensation or polymerization plastic substances or of ceramic materials. The clip may comprise an upper and a lower portion adjustably held together by screws or bolts the upper or lower portion or both being provided with ribs. The two portions may be constructed of different materials, e.g. upper of "Bakelite" (Registered Trade Mark) and the bottom of steatite. The base portion may be omitted in either form.
