Abstract

658,667. Screw clamps. NIELD, D. Jan. 31, 1949, No. 2552. [Class 44] [Also in Group XXXVI] The screw-threaded stem of a skirted insulator is provided with a slot for carrying a conductor and screw-threaded locking means to receive the conductor in the slot. The stem 5, having a slot 7 in which the conductor 8 is located, may extend from the interior of the skirt 4 and carries a nut 6 which may be screwed down over the mouth of slot 7 to hold the conductor 8 in position. In a modification the threaded stem 14 may extend from the top of skirt 4 and one or more slots 15 may be provided in which the conductor(s) 16 are held by means of a nut 17.
