Abstract

1,032,042. Insulators. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 4, 1962 [Oct. 11, 1961], No. 36481/61. Heading H2C. The flashover point between a conducting cap 14 on a procelain insulator 10 having at least two radially-extending sheds 12, 13 and a conducting support 11 to which the insulator is cemented is raised by an insulating collar 16 surrounding the lower part of the conducting cap. The collar is formed integrally with the insulator and cemented to the cap. In Fig. 2, not shown, the insulator is hollow.
