The strap makes initial contact at 10a but, on screwing up, the ends also are brought into contact with the top strip C. Should the insulation shrink clamping is maintained as long as pressure is exerted by the central part 10a. If the joint is left with the initial contact at 10a only, provision is made for use with material that increases in thickness. Specification 17745/94, [Class 89], is referred to.
